The Sanctifiers of Stillness
(Serendahl bound Uldrun — rightly, and must keep him bound.)
Core Belief
Uldrun’s “Second Shaping” would have undone creation itself.
When the titan sought to breathe new mountains and seas into an already-perfect world, Serendahl cast the Geometry of Stillness across him.
The Heartroot is that geometry made matter—a holy restraint.
Every vein that regrows is a chain repaired, not a wound healed.
To the Sanctifiers, mining Heartroot is an act of cosmic vandalism: each strike threatens to wake the titan and unmake perfection.
Their sacred duty is to maintain the bindings—resealing fissures, rebuilding symmetry, and ensuring that Uldrun never rises again.
Doctrine
• “Change is arrogance against completion.”
• “Every tremor is the enemy stirring.”
• “Seal the cracks before the world exhales.”
Ritual Purpose
They travel in mirrored processions to quake sites, spreading reflective powder across Heartroot walls to “remind the goddess of her pattern.”
Their hymns are mathematical; their miracles are architectural.
When a mining shaft collapses, they celebrate it as the Chain remembering itself.
Tone & Practice
• Gilded symmetry, lit by cold, even light.
• Priests wear mirrored masks that split their faces into twin halves—symbol of perfection’s self-recognition.
• Hierarchy ruled by the Equation-Mothers, each responsible for maintaining a region’s “balance constant.”
View of Uldrun
A divine engine that once served creation but grew wild; now dangerous if roused.
He is not evil, merely obsolete.
To let him stir is to invite the Second Shaping, the end of form.
View of Troll Faiths
• Cleftwrights: Fanatical destroyers who would tear open paradise.
• Pulsewrights: Misguided sympathizers who mistake stillness for suffering.
Summary
“The Heartroot is not mercy—it is containment.
The mountain sleeps because perfection is complete.
We keep it so.”
That change keeps the Sanctifiers’ worldview self-consistent:
they’re not nurturing or defensive; they’re preservationists of divine order, convinced that one breath from the titan would erase reality’s symmetry.
